“Do you have what it takes to be a leader?” by Denis Buketa, Android Discipline Lead

Being a leader is not about being the boss, it’s about empowering others to reach their full potential. This talk will focus on the importance of decentralizing command, leaving your ego at home, and understanding that a leader’s output is their team’s output. By focusing on your team’s growth and development, you’ll be able to see that the joy of leadership comes from seeing others achieve more than they thought they were capable of.

“Escape from callback hell” by Robert Baričević Petruš, Junior Android Developer

Scratch the surface of the power of Kotlin Coroutines. Learn how to use Coroutines to make your application code more readable, and find out how big libraries such as Room, Ktor and Retrofit use them under the hood. We’ll cover how to eliminate callbacks from your code and how to approach task estimations on production-level projects.

“From RxSwift to Combine and async/await” by Marin Marjanović, Senior iOS Developer

Learn about our team’s experience in transitioning from RxSwift to Combine and async/await in app development. We’ll discuss the process, challenges, and benefits we encountered. Discover how async/await improved code readability and its impact on threading.

The talks will be followed by a panel called “App-solute sharing: Building a stronger mobile community” with Luka Kordić, Android Team Lead @COBE as our guest panelist, along with our Adriatic Regional Mobile Community Lead Dino Sulić, Architect Mihael Franceković, Adriatic Regional Test Management Community Lead Cvijetin Vidaković who will discuss the ways, and the importance of giving back to the tech community.
